How to Heal Eczema in 10 days

The most common cause of eczema is stress, allergies, chemical irritants and some food additives and preservatives.

If you have eczema, your skin is most likely producing less fats and oils than it should be, the ability to retain water is weakened resulting in dryness, inflammations, and sometimes cracks or blisters.

Most GPs would prescribe creams packed with chemicals or steroids. For me a breastfeeding mum, that wasn’t a satisfying solution as I wanted to avoid any harsh ingredients. In desperation, to improve my skin as soon as possible I was trying almost every cream available at the chemist. In fact, things got even worse, after applying creams my skin became so irritated and itchy that I was feeling pain even after applying water.

Luckily, I accidently discovered that when I was rubbing coconut oil in my hair my skin instantly became smoother and less painful. Encouraged by my new discovery, I started to experiment with several oils and things suddenly improved.

What oils did I use?

I mixed and applied coconut, almond and jojoba oil three to four times a day for the first week. Skin on my hands instantly improved within 5 days, I was amazed that I finally manage to get some moisture and reduce itchiness.

In addition, my friend advise me to add Epson salt in bath. The list of its therapeutic properties is long, one of the best known is that it provides essential mineral magnesium that is involved in more than 325 biochemical reactions in our body!

It helps to reduce stress and reduce pain and swelling. If you have eczema like me on hands, try to soak your hands in the sink with Epson salt in water a few times a day.

Watch what your eat

Eczema is often link to digestive problems. Common allergies or sensitivities can trigger skin condition include colourings, preservatives, milk, wheat, shellfish, eggs, peanuts and chocolate.

The best thing that can help detect a cause could be a food diary. To find out accurately what triggers eczema it would require making notes of all food and drinks consumed on daily basis. The notes should help to spot a pattern to what food improve or worsen our skin condition.


To help heal our skin it is important to introduce to our diet products rich in zinc, vitamin C and vitamin E for example:

Zinc can be found in wheatgerm, pumpkin seeds, brazil nuts and egg yolk.

Vitamin C – kale, oranges, lemons, blackcurrants, tomatoes, potatoes

Vitamin E – wheatgerm oil, almonds, pine nuts, peanuts butter, sweet potatoes, spinach, avocado
